8 months!

my handsome Harlan.
Harlan Jet loves the pool! 7 months.
Momma&Harlan.
First ride on daddy's shoulders. 7months.
Harlan Jet's baby dedication. April 25th. 6months.
Harlan Jet eating his first avacado.
Harlan Jet mmmmm.

Wow, Harlan Jet is 8 months (as of June 19th) and I haven't blogged since he was 11 weeks! Yikes, there's alot to catch up on! Lets see, at about 6 months, Harlan started eating solids! I skipped rice cereal, basically because we don't feel there is any nutritional value, and we started with avacado! He definitely was a little unsure of what was going on, but he did awesome with it! I''ve been making most of my baby food at home from all Organic fruits and veggies, and it has been soooo fun! So far Harlan's had: avacado, banana, squash, peas, carrots, apples, pears, apricots, sweet potatoes, rasberries, and blueberries(he is not a fan!). I''d say he is doing great overall, but he is definitely a veggie man first, well and bananas. Harlan has also started rolling over like crazy! He starts at one end and before you blink, he has rolled himself to the other end of the room! Now he's starting to "scoot" with his toes and pull with his hands. It's only a matter of time before he's mobile! Harlan's personality is so evident now and he honestly is the biggest joy in my life. He is the happiest, most smiley, most sweet and giggly baby I have ever seen! He is such a blessing! He is not sleeping through the night, which is still a smidge of a challenge, but I can't blame him. Three months ago, a lactation nurse I spoke with told me I should be waking him up still at night and feeding him since he was a preemie. At that point in time, he was sleeping 8 hours, waking up once to feed and then going back for about 3 hrs. It was heavenly:) But ever since I started waking him up like the nurse said, he wakes up about every 3 to 4 hours...sigh. We are just praying that this time will pass quickly.

11 weeks now & this is what Harlan's been up to.

Harlan opened his 1st stocking on Christmas day! Haha, he slept the whole entire time!
He had his 1st Christmas Eve with Momma & Daddy!

He now, finally, loves his bassinet! Our friends Tony& Eryn were kind enough to lend us their gorgeous, all-organic bassinet and after weeks of sleeping with Momma& Daddy... Harlan now sleeps in there all night!
Harlan went to the doctor on December 21st, for his 9 week check-up and he now weighs 9 pounds and 9 ounces!! Yayyy! He went from 5.1 to 9.9, what a big boy he is!

And our most favorite thing is that he's been smiling, cooing, and laughing ALL the time! There is nothing in this world that I love more!!

Gigi comes to Atlanta

...this is Gigi with her great-grandson, Harlan Jet. Harlan was named after the county that my great uncle bill& grandmom were raised in, Harlan County, Kentucky. They are children that grew up in an orphanage& became two of the greatest people I know and look up to. Not to mention, my great grandfather was the sheriff of Harlan county and he was tough to say the least;)

This was a great day for us!

sasser trio Christmas photoshoot!

Well, well, well, Harlan is growing sooo fast & I cannot believe that Harlan is already 2 months old! My friend Abbi was kind enough to do a photoshoot of us for our first official "family Christmas card"! So, we did & I ordered them, and well, they arrived two days before Christmas! Lucky me! So, hopefully you got one, before Christmas, but if not here's a glimpse! We had so much fun doing this and we'll DEFINITELY continue this tradition for next year! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!

Have I really not blogged in 19 weeks?!?

Oh my! I am now 31 weeks pregnant! 31 and a half to be exact, not that I am counting or anything haha. I am feeling pretty good, just the typical not being able to paint my own toes and don't wanna bend over for ANYTHING! But other than that I am just taking necessary naps and trying not to kill myself! For those of you who don't know, I quit my job at Bob Steele due to them not wanting to cooperate with my hours and I just couldn't take 9 hour days on my feet any longer. Everyday my feet looked like blown up hot dogs when I was done. So I am now nannying for a 7 yr old, Gavin, 4 days a week and a 2 year old, Mehrik, 1 day a week and its great! I'm just nannying part time and doing hair on the side! It is SUCH a relief and I am SO thankful. Michael is still at Northpoint and all is well! We have our Childbirth class on saturday and I think it will be very interesting! The nursery is ALMOST done but not completely, there are still some major things we need! I am looking forward to my shower October 4th with my high school youth girls and their moms! It should be a blast:) Here are a few pictures of the nursery& we are actually getting maternity pictures done by Abbi Conroy on monday so be looking for those:)

12 weeks and Going Good!

Well it's my fault because I've been so busy that I havent posted any blogs since like 5 weeks! That's terrible, I promise it will get better! Well here's a picture of my 8 week ultrasound since you missed it!!

I just went in last friday for my 12 week and everything looks good! Michael and I got to hear the heartbeat which is just life changing in itself! I still cannot fully grasp the fact that there's a human growing inside ofmy stomach! God is so good! Doctor Lewis said that since we heard the heartbeat so strongly this reduces my miscarriage rate to 1% which gives me a slight sigh of relief... So thank God for that! I've been feeling pretty good for those of you who are asking, unfortunately Michael and I went to Destin FL this past weekend and I got sick for the 1st time! BLAH!!! But we had a great trip!! I'll be posting that next! Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!!
